My friend Katy St-Laurent designs active clothes that are  perfect for traveling. You can roll them in your suitcase and as they don’t wrinkle they always look good. The fabrics also dry really quickly.

During my last trip to South America, I carried with me a jacket and a dress that took no place in my luggage.

The dresses can be used on their own or can be worn with leggings. The jacket and sweater are perfect for cooler nights. They can be used as city clothes or for sporting activities.

My friend Nathalie brought me back this gadget from the CES show in Vegas.

It is a great travel gear, as you can use it to transfer files at Internet Cafes, if you carry a laptop with you. You can also stock some of your travel information, like flight confirmations, important numbers, email addresses from friends and family.

As I travel light and I don’t check my luggage, this is the only Swiss army “knife” that I am allowed to take on board, as there is no blade. It has a 8 GB flash memory card, a useful flashlight that can help you find your stuff at night and a practical pen, in case you have to jolt down a phone number.

EarPlanes, for those suffering at landing

If you are like me, landing is not always a pleasant experience, as I often suffer from earache. If you also have that problem, Ear planes might help you. They are a useful little gyzmo to add to your “landing paraphernalia”. Last flight from Quito turned out to be extremely painful for me. I had a major cold and I could not use my usual trip of equalizing the pressures, like I do when I scuba dive. Gums and candies did not help either, but Ear Planes definitely helped.
